STARS

She says she feels so hollow; she tries to be a friend
Doesn't believe in tomorrow, goes about her life it never ends
This feeling of a distance, this feeling of fear
Don't we all want redemption, does anybody care.

But I . . . . want the stars, she said
But I . . . . want to love , she said

"You got to make the world move instead
Of standing still at the edge
You got to keep your whole life happening
Instead of gambling with your death . . . " He said.

She always tries to follow, doesn't want to shine in a crowd
Her clothes are sometimes borrowed, stark but never loud
This feeling of helplessness is something she bore as a child
He tried to make some sense of it all and took her as his bride.

But I . . . . want the stars, she said
But I . . . . want to love , she said
